  • Who Should Attend This Course: This course is designed to help the individual understand their responsibilities within the workplace and is aimed at persons working with Abrasive Wheels.
  • It is a legal requirement under The Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulation 1998 (PUWER) that all staff who use abrasive wheels receive abrasive wheels training in the safe use of the tools and changing of wheels, IT would also benefit managers and supervisors in order that they understand their duties and responsibilities.
  • Most recently, the implementation of the General Product Safety Regulations (2005) and new codes of practice have extended the requirements for training to cover abrasive wheel equipment used in the consumer market and includes those manufacturing, specifying, selling, purchasing, supervising and using abrasive wheel equipment
  • Instructor Ratio: 12x trainees (maximum) per Instructor
  • Course Duration: 1/2 day Training Course (4 hours )
  • Location: Training can be delivered on-site and off-site depending on your requirements; training delivered on-site will be more advantageous to the trainees as the training can be specific to their workplace activities.

Aims of the course

At the end of the course delegates will have an understanding of current legislation and be able to demonstrate the safe fitting and use of abrasive wheels as per manufacturer's instructions, the course includes hands-on practical assessments throughout fully supervised by the instructor / tutor.

Prerequisites for this course

Operatives should be medically fit including good eyesight and hearing.

Achievement Measurement for this course

The training is carried out in accordance with Accredited Standards includes both theory and practical assessments leading to each trainee being issued a certificate of competence and attendance.
